Using media to enhance learning can be a great way to get maximum engagement and participation from your students. From creating/viewing stories as videos, to making animated slide show tutorials, you will find that media use can help move your lessons up the SAMR model, redefining the learning experience!

Today let's look specifically at how you can use Lip Dub with your students for literacy learning. Music has so many particular literary elements, and making a lip dub video can help your students not only investigate the written components of the text, but the heart and soul of the song, transforming meaning into visual action. Maybe you take it further, by finding a song that is connected to a certain area of the curriculum you are studying, like perhaps "Mr. Roboto" for a robotics lesson or "Walk Like an Egyptian" for ancient civilizations. Just make sure you either purchase a licence or find a song with a Creative Commons licence.

Check out these two videos by the Beloit Memorial High School showing how an entire graduating class can come together to create an incredible literacy learning experience.
